Low impact Living is a phrase we have acquired to help us assess our environmental impact. Here are some simple ways to reduce your impact on our planet.
Install Low Flow shower heads and dual flush or efficient toilets.
Use sink aerators. They cost three dollars, and you can thirty dollars a year And use less water by fitting your kitchen faucet with one. They work well in other faucets throughout the house as well!
Here comes the big one, but when it's time, install Energy Star or high efficiency appliances including your dishwasher, washer and dryer. Another way to save energy is to take the bulky items from your washer and air dry them outside. I have just started doing this and save hours of dryer time by hanging my bathmats and towels over patio chair backs for a few hours to air dry in the sun. I throw them in the dryer for five minutes to get the stiffness out of them and they are even better than if I just threw them in the dryer!
